Finding Keyser Soze.

Roger “Verbal” Kent:

Jhonny Peralta looks crippled in the batter’s box.  With only 2 hrs thus far he is on pace for 6.  His value lies in his power, so without the bombs his value has evaporated.  He is hitting 257, which is not far from his career 268, so where has the power gone?  The answer is nowhere.  It is just hard to go yard when you are hammering the ball into the ground.  In every season Jhon has played 100+games, he has consistently hit 47%GB and 34%FB.  Year in. Year out.  This year he is pounding 56% of his hits into the ground.  That results in Big Jhon only lifting 28% of his batted balls above his line of sight.  The inconsistency is the inconsistency.

Dean Keaton:

Derrek Lee is an average player hiding in the shadow of his former self.  The broken wrist Lee suffered in 2006 skewed his numbers that year.  In fact, his numbers have continued skewing since the injury.  Throwing out Lee’s 2006 numbers,  you will see declining average and dwindling power from 335 and 46hr in 05 to 291 and 20hr in 08.  Lee is still a good 1b, I would love to have him on my squad.  However, he will be lucky to sniff 25 hr again in his career.

Fred Fenster:

Pablo Sandoval, “…around the corners…”

Michael McManus:

Oh Carlos
